The Father’s Love

The following is something that God impressed upon me during our time together this morning. I do not profess to be a poet, and the form is probably far from right. But, I feel today that someone needs to understand just how much Jesus loves them.

by Glenda Alphin

To tell you of a love so true, how could I ever say?

The depth of feeling that I have written on my heart today;

It is a love so true, so real, and one that does not fail.

It is always near – yea, so close, and keeps us through each gale.

Consider the eagle, how it flies; its ability knows no end.

Think of a lioness protecting her cubs, or even a mother hen.

The thunder of a waterfall as it pours over cliffs of rock,

All of these bring to mind a Father’s love in which I put great stock.

It is a love so true, so real, and one that does not fail.

It is always near – yea, so close – and keeps us through each gale.

Just as seasons come and go, and nature follows course;

We, too, must endure hard times in life, and grow without remorse.

The storms will come at one time or ‘nother, and try to take our faith;

But, heed the source of trouble, my friend, and stand firm – yes, keep your place!

Our Father does not trouble us, it is our fiercest foe;

Yet, He allows the struggle, for He knows it helps us grow.

Who is God, that He should lie? Is His Word ever proved untrue?

So don’t despair, and don’t lose hope, for He’s watching over you.

He loves you with a love so deep, I could never tell the tale.

Or, share with you all of the ways His love can – and will – prevail.

Just trust His word, for what it says is ever strong and true;

He promised He would never leave, nor ever forsake you.

When storms of life press in, and try to take our strength,

The Father’s love steps in the gap and goes the extra length.

God’s love is vast, His love is wide, and simply cannot be measured.

He’s freely given of Himself in hopes that He would be treasured.

So take some time to listen and allow Him to come near.

His arms will wrap around you tight, and remove your every fear.

His love is unlike anything you’ve ever known before;

God will never hurt you; please, open your heart’s door.

Let Him come and heal your wounds, fill every empty space;

He’s waiting, oh so patiently, to come and take His place.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us... (Ephesians 2:4)

    • Hi again :). Truthfully, this nomination has left me both dumbfounded and more than a little stumped. I have tried to fulfill the rules (nominating 15 other bloggers), but am not familiar enough with the number of blogs necessary to reach the requirements. I wish I could (the rest is easy, smile, it’s just that 15…). I appreciate the nomination so much, and humbly thank you for considering us worthy of it. May God bless you! -glenda
